Description

Hohen-Sülzen is located in the so-called Eisbach valley; and as the name suggests, the cold low mountain stream that rises in the Donnersberg massif exerts a considerable influence on the cooler nights. The difference between day and night temperatures is higher in Hohen-Sülzen than in the other districts. As a result, the wines retain their freshness and elegance and their pleasant acidity despite the high grape ripeness.

This Riesling reflects exactly these attributes: the nose is dominated by the fully ripe aromas of sweet peach and juicy apricot. In the mouth, the fruit aromas are then joined by earthy notes: Tobacco, herbs, some licorice. It is precisely this balance between fruit and stone that is the outstanding characteristic of Hohen-Sülz wines: cool soil and warm fruit. Precisely playful on the palate, yet persistent and elegant.
