The 2012 vintage was preceded by a dry winter in the Swartland which meant lower yields and small berries for dryland vineyards. This in turn delivers wines with intense flavour, structure and colour, as can be found in the Porcupine Ridge Syrah. Fermented with selected Rhone yeast strains under controlled conditions and followed by French oak maturation, this wine is a true reflection of its origin.
Rich and powerful dark fruit flavours with loads of pepper and violets. Well structured palate with smooth tannins and lingering mouth feel. Judicious use of oak adds to the profile without overpowering the fruit. Good density with a delicious aftertaste.
