Mourvèdre is a great grape variety for warmer climates. It has a touch of elegance, despite positively rustic powerful character. Herb sweet thyme in the finish.

Description

An absolute pioneer for this grape variety in South Africa, Beaumont produced the country's first single varietal Mourvèdre here in 1999, this grape variety was originally planted as the foundation wine for the flagship red wine cuvée "Vitruvian". As a complement, this fascinating wine is bottled here year after year in the smallest quantities (about 2,400 bottles) as a single varietal. Fermented spontaneously in open concrete fermentation tanks, it is aged for 36 months in used French. Oak matured. This dark, earthy, spicy and robust red is a true wine for geeks looking for something special that also benefits from longer aging in bottle. There can be nothing better with a grilled T-bone steak.
