De Trafford Farm is hidden in the hills below the Helderberg. The name has nothing to do with the stadium of Manchester United, although master wines are made here. You have to drive about 15 minutes over gravel roads to get from the main road to the out-of-the-way smallholding. David Trafford, an architect by training, has made this boutique winery a success in just a few years. The labels show the layout of his winery, which he designed and created himself. In addition to the wines listed in the program, he also makes small quantities of Pinot Noir, straw wine, Shiraz, Chenin Blanc and Cabernet Franc. Here are produced wines with distinctive character and originality. INDIVIDUALITY is written in capital letters and each wine is given its own place. In the Wenien is great concentration, much density interwoven with indispensable elegance and complexity.
