The Elevation 393 from winemaker David Trafford from Stellenbosch presents itself deep red to purple in the glass. The 15% vol. is nicely hidden under chocolate and tobacco aromas with herbs and black currant coming on the scene with the second sip. Give it a little air to let it play out its full fruit and complexity.
If you are expecting a South African fruit bomb with oak makeup you are wrong. The De Trafford Elevation 393 is a very balanced and coherent wine in which the individual components such as fruit, body, minerality are in harmonious balance - which is also supported by a good acid structure. Made from 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot and 13% Shiraz.

Closure: Natural cork - Aging: 22 months barrique, unfiltered, hand-pressed grapes, spontaneously fermented.
